Colors in Customify let you manage the theme’s global palette from a top-level Customizer section.
Use Colors before editing Buttons & Form Fields, Typography, or older Styling controls so the rest of the site starts from the same palette.
Where to find it
- Go to Appearance → Customize → Colors. The Colors section opens.
- Edit the six individual palette slots, then adjust link, heading, background, or legacy fine-tuning controls only when needed.
- Click Publish. The saved colors are used across supported Customify controls.

Palette slots
Since Customify 0.4.17, Colors includes six global palette slots. These slots are the main color choices for fresh theme styling and editor palette sync.
| Slot | Default | What it controls |
| Primary | #0e7c7b | Main brand color for links, calls to action, and controls that follow the primary token. |
| Secondary | #c3512f | Secondary brand color for supporting accents. |
| Accent | #FFD042 | Highlight color for small visual emphasis. |
| Text | #2b2b2b | Base ink color for body text, headings, and derived muted text. |
| Surface | #ECECEC | Card, titlebar, and elevated area background defaults. The Page Header titlebar background follows this token unless it is overridden. |
| Base | #FFFFFF | Page background and broad site canvas defaults. |
Palette switcher presets
Palette switcher presets let you apply a complete set of six slot values at once. The Customizer preview updates live, without reloading the page.
- Go to Appearance → Customize → Colors.
- Open the palette switcher at the top of the Colors section.
- Choose a palette preset. The six palette slots and the live preview update without a reload.
- Edit individual slots if you need precise brand colors.
- Click Publish. Customify saves the selected palette values.

How colors flow into other controls
Palette slots feed derived colors such as links, link hover, headings, body text, muted meta text, and borders. Those derived colors appear in areas such as Blog and Header Rows Settings when a control follows the global defaults.
Use palette slots for broad site identity, then use component controls only when one area needs a deliberate exception.
Colors, Backgrounds, and Legacy fine-tuning
The Colors group contains Link color, Link hover color, and Heading color. The Backgrounds group contains Page Background, Content Area Background, and Site Content Background.
Legacy fine-tuning contains Body text override, Border override, Meta text override, and Widget title override. If a legacy control has a saved value, that value wins over the palette-derived default. The Shop Buttons color control is no longer used; use Buttons & Form Fields for button styling now.
