Shadow presets

Blocksify shadow presets let you manage reusable box-shadow tokens for the Border, Radius & Shadow panel.

Use them when cards, buttons, images, or layout wrappers should share the same shadow treatment across a design.

Where to find it

  1. Open any post or page in the WordPress editor.
  2. Click the top-right ⋮ menu.
  3. Under Panels, click Blocksify Settings. A sidebar slides in.
  4. Open Global Shadows. Default and custom shadow groups appear.
The Global Shadows panel shows the default and custom shadow groups.

Seeded and custom shadows

Blocksify ships five seeded defaults: Soft, Medium, Strong, Hard, and Inset. Their slugs carry a bsy- prefix so their CSS variables do not collide with theme or WordPress core shadow presets.

Custom shadows are user-created entries. Blocksify supports up to 20 custom shadow presets, and each preset can contain up to 8 layers.

Edit a shadow preset

Click a shadow row to open an anchored popover. A preview card stays pinned at the top while the editor switches between the preset screen and a layer screen.

  1. Click a shadow row. The editor popover opens.
  2. Click a layer row. The layer editor opens.
  3. Adjust X, Y, Blur, Spread, Color, or Inset.
  4. Use the layer row arrows to reorder layers when more than one layer exists.
  5. Click the back affordance to return to the preset screen.
The shadow editor popover shows the pinned preview card and layer fields.

Reset and delete rules

Preset typeWhat you can do
Default presetsEdit layers as patches and reset modified presets to their seed values. Default names are not editable, and default presets cannot be deleted.
Custom presetsAdd, rename, edit, reorder layers, and delete. New custom shadows are auto-named, open immediately, and use a bsy- slug.

Use shadows in blocks

The Border, Radius & Shadow panel is available on blocks such as the Section block, Container block, and Button block. Open Box Shadow, click Presets, then choose from the Defaults or Custom tabs.

Clicking a preset links the block to that token, so blocks using the preset update everywhere when you edit it. Changing the block’s shadow by hand turns that one block into a custom shadow; see the Global Settings overview for how token-based controls fit together.
