Blocksify Dynamic Data fills a block with live content, such as a post title, author, featured image, product price, or link.
What is Dynamic Data?
Dynamic Data is a block setting that replaces a fixed value with information from the entry or archive being displayed. Instead of typing “Northstar Studio” into every card, you can let each card show its own post title.
The same block design can therefore display different content on every post, product, category, author page, or search view. Blocksify refreshes that value when the page context changes.
How does Dynamic Data work?
Start from a supported block control, choose a field, and refine its source or fallback when needed. Blocksify shows a sample in the editor and uses the live page context on the front end.
The connection belongs to the block control, not to a copied piece of text. You can still design the block’s typography, spacing, colors, and responsive behavior while its content stays connected to WordPress.
Where the controls appear
| Block | Control | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Text and Heading | Dynamic data | The displayed text or rich text. |
| Image | Dynamic image | The image, such as a featured image or author avatar. |
| Button | Dynamic text and Dynamic link | The button label and destination. |
| Gallery | Source type → Dynamic Data, then Gallery field | Attached post images, product media, or a single dynamic image. |
| Section background | Dynamic background image | The background image. This control requires Blocksify Pro. |

Choose the live value
Select a control to open the picker, then choose Field. The Field menu uses these groups:
- Post
- Product
- Term (archive)
- Author (archive)
- Archive
- Search
After you choose a Post field, Source shows Current post (context). After you choose a Product field outside a product context, Select a product shows Select a product…; inside a Product page context, the controls instead show Source and Current post (context).
Use the archive being viewed
On category, tag, author, date, and search views, matching fields use the term, author, archive, or search request being viewed. This is how one archive heading can show “Interior design” on one category and “News” on another.
Use compatible fields
Blocksify filters the Field menu by the kind of value each control accepts:
- Text and Heading accept text, rich text, number, URL, image, and date fields.
- Image accepts image fields.
- Button Dynamic link accepts URL fields.
- Gallery Dynamic Data accepts gallery and supported image fields.

Set a fallback and preview
For a text-compatible control, open Advanced to add Before, After, or Fallback text. The fallback appears when the selected field is empty, while the before and after text frame a value that exists.
The separate Preview fieldset below Advanced shows the current field sample. In a Dynamic Template, Editor preview is the sample-entry picker, while archive templates use the Editor preview — term, Editor preview — author, Editor preview — date, or Editor preview — search query variant. On the front end, visitors see values from the page they opened.
Lock a challenging sample
If the current preview cannot supply a value, Blocksify can use another recent entry as a sample. When an exact-entry display condition determines that sample, Editor preview is locked; this is useful when checking unusually long titles or missing images.
Use it in repeating and site-wide layouts
Dynamic Data works inside Content Loop cards, where each repeated card receives its own entry. It also powers Dynamic Templates, so one layout can serve many posts, products, or archives.
Blocksify includes fields for posts, pages, built-in archives, and WooCommerce products. Blocksify Pro adds custom post types, custom taxonomy values, custom fields, and Dynamic background image; see What Blocksify Pro adds.
Bind a Text block to the post title
- Add or select a Blocksify Text block.
- Select Dynamic data in the block toolbar.
- Under Field, choose Post → Title.
- If an empty title needs replacement text, open Advanced and enter a Fallback.
- Select Apply, then save or publish the page.

Why use Dynamic Data?
Keep layouts reusable
Build a card or template once, then let its context supply the content. You avoid creating a separate copy for every post or product.
Keep content current
Change a post title, featured image, category name, or product price at its source. Every layout that uses that field reflects the updated value.
Design with real examples
Editor previews show real sample values, making spacing and typography easier to judge before publishing. A fallback also keeps the layout useful when optional content is missing.
Try a short title, a long title, and an entry without optional media before settling the design. The layout remains the same, but these samples reveal where text may wrap or empty space may appear.
