The Blocksify Dynamic Data field picker lists the live values you can connect to text, images, links, galleries, and other controls.
Where to find the field picker
- Select a supported Blocksify block in the editor.
- Open its dynamic control, such as Dynamic data, Dynamic image, Dynamic text, or Dynamic link.
- Open Field, which initially reads Select a field…, and choose a group and field.

The picker only offers values that the current control can use. For example, an Image block offers image fields, while a button link offers URL fields.
After selecting a field, use the separate Preview fieldset to inspect its current sample. For a text-compatible control, enable Advanced to expose Before, After, and Fallback.
Fields from the current post or page
The Post group uses the current post, page, or other entry. In a Content Loop, “current” means the entry for that card; in a Dynamic Template, it means the entry being displayed or previewed.
These fields are available for WordPress posts and pages in Blocksify. WooCommerce products can also use them, so a product card may combine a general entry field such as Permalink with a product field such as Price.
| Field | Type of value | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Text | A card heading or page title. |
| Excerpt | Text | A short card summary. |
| Content | Rich text | The main post or page body. |
| Date | Date | The published date. |
| Modified date | Date | The most recent update date. |
| Author name | Text | A byline. |
| Permalink | URL | A button or linked card destination. |
| Featured image | Image | A post hero or card image. |
| Attached images | Gallery | Images attached to the current entry. |
WooCommerce product fields
The Product group is available when WooCommerce is active. Outside a product context, Select a product shows the placeholder Select a product…. Inside a Product page context, the controls instead show Source and Current post (context).
Price fields contain WooCommerce’s formatted display, including the store currency and sale formatting where applicable. Use those values in a rich-text-compatible control instead of rebuilding the price from a plain number.

| Field | Type of value | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Text | Product name. |
| Description | Rich text | Full product description. |
| Price | Rich text | Formatted current price. |
| Regular price | Rich text | Formatted standard price. |
| Sale price | Rich text | Formatted sale price. |
| SKU | Text | Product identifier. |
| Stock status | Text | Availability message. |
| Stock quantity | Number | Units currently in stock. |
| Rating | Number | Average rating value. |
| Review count | Number | Number of reviews. |
| Short description | Rich text | Compact product summary. |
| Weight | Text | Formatted product weight. |
| Dimensions | Text | Formatted product dimensions. |
| Categories | Rich text | Linked product categories. |
| Tags | Rich text | Linked product tags. |
| Product media | Gallery | The featured product image and gallery. |
For ready-made commerce layouts, also see the Product Price block and Product Gallery.
Term, author, archive, and search fields
These groups describe the archive being viewed. They are useful in Dynamic Templates for headings, introductions, counts, images, and links that change with the current archive.
Choose the group that matches the page’s meaning. Term (archive) is for a specific category or tag, Author (archive) is for the person whose posts are listed, and Archive supplies the general WordPress archive heading and description. These are Field groups tied to the archive being viewed, not choices inside Source.
| View | Available fields | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Term (archive) | Term name (text), Term description (rich text), Post count (number), Term link (URL) | Category, tag, product category, or product tag headings and summaries. |
| Author (archive) | Author name (text), Author bio (rich text), Author avatar (image), Author website (URL), Posts archive link (URL) | Author archive introductions and profile links. |
| Archive | Archive title (text), Archive description (rich text) | Date, post type, taxonomy, and blog archive headings. |
| Search | Search query (text), Result count (number) | A search heading or results summary. |
The Search fields are available in Blocksify Free wherever a Blocksify block renders on a search view. Only building a Dynamic Template that targets the search results page requires Blocksify Pro; custom post types, custom taxonomy values, and extra custom fields also require Pro.
Some archive values can be empty. A category may have no description, an author may have no bio or website, and a search can return zero results. Set a fallback when the surrounding layout should still show explanatory text.
Value types
Each field declares the shape of its value. Blocksify uses that value type to show the field only in compatible controls.
Text is plain content, while rich text can retain links and formatting supplied by WordPress or WooCommerce. Image values represent one image; gallery values represent a collection and therefore use the Gallery block’s source controls.
| Value type | Compatible controls |
|---|---|
| Text | Text, Heading, and Button Dynamic text. |
| Rich text | Text, Heading, and Button Dynamic text; formatting can be preserved. |
| Number | Text, Heading, and Button Dynamic text. |
| URL | Text and Heading; Button Dynamic link. |
| Image | Text, Heading, and Image; Gallery Dynamic Data when the source supports one image; and the Pro Dynamic background image control. |
| Date | Text, Heading, and Button Dynamic text. |
| Gallery | Gallery Source type set to Dynamic Data. |
If a field is empty, open Advanced and set a Fallback. To connect supported plugin fields or custom fields, see Supported field plugins.
Changing the selected field does not change the block’s visual settings. Review the new sample after a change, because a longer title, formatted price, vertical image, or larger gallery may need different spacing.
