The Blocksify Content Loop displays posts, terms, or products as styled cards with query, layout, paging, and empty-state controls. Use it when repeated content needs a designed card layout inside a Section block.
At a glance
| Block name | blocksify/content-loop |
| Display mode | Builds cards from the selected query. |
| Default query | Posts, inline source, 6 items per page, with the current post excluded. |
| Free content types | Posts and Terms. |
| Card design | Media, header, body, footer, overlays, and elements. |
| Paging items | Pagination, result count, and per-page selector. |
Where to find it
- Open the block inserter and choose Blocksify → Content Loop. The block is added with the default post card layout.
- Select the Content Loop block on the canvas.
- Use the inspector tabs for Query, Grid, Card, and Paging.

When to use it
Use Content Loop for post grids, page lists, term directories, archive sections, and reusable card layouts. It is the block to choose when a listing needs both a query and a custom card design.
Use the Design Library for complete page patterns, then adjust the Content Loop query and card layout to match the page.
Query setup
The query controls answer two questions: what content type to show and where the list should come from.

| Dimension | Values and behavior |
| Content type | Posts and Terms are Free. Pro can register Users or custom entities. |
| Query source | Inline uses the block’s query parameters. Inherit reuses the main query and is available only for Posts. Pro can add saved sources. |
| Narrow to post type | Appears for an inherited query inside a search-results Dynamic Template. Choose one post type to rerun the visitor’s current search for that type with separate pagination; ordinary archive templates continue to inherit the complete page query. |
| Posts scope | Free post type choices are post and page. Custom post types are unlocked through the query type extension path. |
| Terms scope | Free taxonomy choices are category and post_tag. Custom taxonomies are unlocked through the taxonomy extension path. |
For archive loops, build a Dynamic Template, set Query source to Inherit, add an archive Display on condition, and use Editor preview to confirm the cards reflect that view’s query.
Post query parameters
Post queries are built for WP_Query. The shipped query path handles post type, order, per-page count, author, status, taxonomy filters, date filters, featured-only, sticky posts, and current-post exclusion.
For visitor-facing controls that narrow, sort, or search a loop, see the Blocksify Pro Loop Filter overview. If an extension is inactive, Blocksify ignores choices it can no longer use instead of breaking the loop.
Term query parameters
Term queries can filter and order terms. The Terms controls cover taxonomy, hide empty, parent, order, include, exclude, search, and number.
Switching between Posts and Terms resets the visible controls to defaults for that content type. If you switch back before saving, the editor can restore your previous choices.
Card layout zones and elements
Use the Card tab to arrange the card’s media, header, body, footer, overlay, and element areas. The same card design is used in the editor and on the frontend.

| Zone | What it holds |
| Media | A featured image slot and optional overlay slots at top-left, top-right, center, bottom-left, and bottom-right. |
| Header | Elements split into left and right sides when both sides are used. |
| Body | The main single-column content area for the card. |
| Footer | Elements split into left and right sides when both sides are used. |
Post and term elements
Post cards can use image, title, description, author, date, categories, tags, comments, reading time, and link-style elements. To place custom fields inside a card, see Blocksify Pro’s dynamic data in the Content Loop.
Image elements render the featured image for posts, so review the Image block when you need consistent image sizing elsewhere on the page.
Grid and card layout
The listing layout defaults to grid. Columns can be set separately for desktop, tablet, and mobile, with gap and row gap controls for spacing between cards.
The card layout can be stacked or row. Stacked places media above content, while row is the side-media shape used by list-style cards.
Card design presets
Content Loop presets are design-only. A preset changes the card layout and styling without replacing the selected posts, terms, filters, or pagination choices.
Applying a preset changes the card design and keeps the loop’s existing query. If a preset needs an element that is not available for the current content type, choose a different preset or add a compatible element.
| Preset source | Behavior |
| Built-in | Shipped card designs for common post, term, and product layouts. |
| My presets | User-saved card designs that leave query choices alone. |
| Apply behavior | Applying a preset copies the design into the current loop, so later edits to the loop do not change the saved preset. |
Pagination and empty state
The Paging tab uses a simple item list. Remove all paging items to disable pagination entirely, or combine navigation, count, and per-page controls in one row.

| Paging item | What it renders |
| Pagination | Numbers, Previous-Next, or Load more. Numbers include sibling count and previous or next icons. |
| Result count | A formatted count such as showing start, end, and total. |
| Per-page selector | A label and select box with positive integer options. |
| URL state | Can stay stateless or update the URL with a loop-scoped page key when enabled. |
When no results are found, the block shows an empty-state paragraph. If you leave the text blank, Blocksify uses the default empty message.

WooCommerce products
The product-grid variant exists as a WooCommerce Product Loop variation on the same Content Loop block. It uses product queries and adds product card elements such as price, sale badge, stock status, rating, and add to cart.
Style capabilities
Content Loop keeps block-level styling narrow. The outer wrapper gets Block Spacing and Visibility, while card visuals live on the card, card content, zones, elements, overlays, and paging controls.
| Style surface | What it controls |
| Block Spacing | Spacing around the whole loop wrapper. |
| Card Style | The repeated card surface, including background and radius defaults. |
| Card Content Style | The wrapper that groups header, body, and footer content. |
| Zone Style | Media, header, body, footer, and side-specific zone styling. |
| Element Style | Per-element typography, color, border, radius, image, or other supported style groups. |
| Pagination Style | The paging bar and each paging item. |
Use responsive and hover editing for card spacing, element styles, and pagination states. For performance details, see How Blocksify keeps your site fast.
Tips
- Set the query before designing the card.
- Use row cards for dense lists and stacked cards for visual grids.
- Test empty results before publishing a filtered loop.
