Common questions about Blocksify Pro

Blocksify Pro extends the free Blocksify plugin with filtering, dynamic content, visibility, interactions, and Search Kit tools.

Do I need the free Blocksify plugin?

Yes. Blocksify Pro requires the free Blocksify plugin to be installed and active. Review the free Blocksify requirements for its supported WordPress, PHP, and browser versions.

If Blocksify is missing, inactive, or older than version 1.0.0, Pro does not start. WordPress uses the same notice for an inactive or outdated copy: “Blocksify Pro requires Blocksify version 1.0.0 or newer — please update the Blocksify plugin.”

The WordPress Plugins screen shows Blocksify Pro active, Blocksify inactive, and a notice requiring Blocksify version 1.0.0 or newer.

Why is the Slider block missing from the inserter?

The Slider requires Blocksify 1.2.1 or newer. With an older free plugin, Blocksify Pro does not register the Slider or Slide blocks and shows a requirement notice to administrators who can manage plugins.

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins and find Blocksify.
  2. Update the free plugin to version 1.2.1 or newer.
  3. Reopen the editor, then choose Blocksify → Slider. The Slider entry should appear.
The WordPress Plugins screen shows a notice that the Slider requires Blocksify version 1.2.1 or newer.

Is there a license key or activation step?

No. Blocksify Pro 1.1.0 does not include a license-key field or a separate product activation request. Upload the plugin ZIP, then click Activate on the WordPress Plugins screen.

How do I update Blocksify Pro?

Blocksify Pro 1.1.0 has no automatic updater. Follow Updating Blocksify Pro to replace the installed copy with a newer ZIP.

  1. Update the free Blocksify plugin first when a newer required version is available.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and upload the new Blocksify Pro ZIP.
  3. Review the versions, then click Replace current with uploaded.

What happens if I deactivate Blocksify Pro?

Deactivation keeps saved block settings, conditions, and index information. Visitor-facing Pro behavior stops until you reactivate the plugin.

FeatureWhat visitors see with Pro off
Loop Filter, Loop Search Bar, and Loop Toolbar blocksThe controls disappear. Their target Content Loop remains and shows current, unfiltered results; bookmarked filter values are ignored.
Saved visibility conditionsThe affected Blocksify blocks show. A missing condition check does not hide saved content.
Dynamic Field elements in cardsPro-only field values and elements are omitted. The rest of each card and the Content Loop remain.
Search Tabs and Search Empty StateSearch Tabs shows nothing. Search Empty State normally lives inside a Pro search template; with Pro off, the theme handles search results and does not use that template or its empty-state section. If the block was placed on an ordinary page by itself, its child content shows instead.
Extra interaction triggersThe block remains visible in its natural state, but the Pro-only trigger does not run.
Custom post type loopsA saved single post type can still be queried. If several were selected, the free plugin uses the first; Pro-only custom-field query rows are skipped.

Reactivating Pro restores the saved behavior. A stopped Loop Filter build can continue because deactivation retains its prepared information, although Pro stops its scheduled index work while inactive.

Does Pro replace the Content Loop?

No. Content Loop belongs to the free plugin. Blocksify Pro adds visitor filters, extra field sources, custom post type choices, and additional card elements on top of the same block.

Do filters work when JavaScript is off?

Yes. A Loop Filter is a standard GET form before browser enhancements are applied. Visitors can choose values and submit the form; the page reloads at the corresponding filtered URL.

  1. Choose one or more facet values.
  2. Click Apply. The browser loads the filtered address.
  3. Use a chip or Reset link to load the address with that choice removed.

Instant updates, in-place result changes, responsive popovers, and drawers need JavaScript. The submitted values and server-rendered results do not.

Can I preview a condition in the editor?

No. A selected visibility condition is evaluated when the front-end page renders. The editor keeps the block visible so you can select and edit it; publish or preview the page in its intended context to test the result.

Why do facet counts lag behind new content?

Counts and prepared option values are refreshed in background batches. Newly published or imported content can appear in the Content Loop before every displayed count catches up.

  1. Go to Blocksify → Dashboard → Settings → Loop Filter.
  2. Check Pending jobs and Progress.
  3. Use Run jobs now or follow Manage the Loop Filter index if the numbers do not advance.
